About my ESP E-II Eclipse, See-Thru Black Cherry Sunburst
I bought this as I wanted the fuller sound you get from a Les Paul body but also something that was more geared towards metal. It meets all those requirements and more! This guitar is my rhythm beast guitar. I will be using this to record all the rhythm parts for the Arterial Bleed debut album.
The finish on it is absolute quality, from the deep quilt of the maple top to the white multi binding round the body. Looks wise this is one of my favourite guitars that I own. The black in the quilt at angles looks smokey and the black hardware sets it all off nicely.
This guitar doesn’t just bring the looks though it brings power and punch in the face you’d expect from a Les Paul type body. Out of all the guitars I own when it’s cranked up gives a boost you can genuinely feel. The body has contours that make it much more comfortable than say a Gibson Les Paul, not just that it's also much lighter!
Pickups are active EMG 60 (neck) and EMG 81 (bridge), I'm a big fan of EMGs - not everyone's cup of tea but I like the tones you can get out of them particularly for distortion and they stay fairly quiet feedback wise. Metal is what these bad boi's do best but you can get some good clean tones out of it too, the metal tones though...BEEFY.

About my Gibson USA 2019 SG High Performance In Blueberry Fade
I bought this as an upgrade to my Gibson SG Standard to play at Trentfest 2019. There are quite a few additional features to this guitar that you don't get on a standard, for example locking tuners, push/pull volume and tone, burstbucker pro pickups....the list goes on. You can check out the full spec list over to the right on this page.
I have always been a massive fan of SGs. I owned a Gibson SG Standard and this was my main guitar for a good 16 years, so when I came to find myself browsing for a new guitar I naturally looked at what Gibson were putting out at the time and came across this beauty.
Looks wise it really is gorgeous, it's hard to appreciate how good the fade effect on the body finish is from the pictures. It is done extremely well, sometimes I think a 'fade' effect can either look really blocky or just.......well shit - not the case with this guitar at all. You have the dark purple and deep blues on the horns going through to a blue denim like fade towards the tail. Gibson really did an amazing job with the colours and finish on this one.
Onto the pickups, the Burstbucker pro pickups in this guitar are fantastic, The high performance circuit controls which features 2 Push/Pull Volumes, 2 Push/Pull Tones, 3-Way Aviation Grade Toggle Switch, and Internal 5-Position DIP Switch makes for an extremely versatile guitar. These pickups can provide beautiful cleans to thick crushing metal tones, there's a lot to fiddle with and with that brings endless possibilities in terms of what you can get out of these things.
It's a comfortable guitar to play, word of warning if you are not used to an SG and you are thinking this sounds up your street, it does still suffer a slight bit of neck dive but certainly is an improvement on a Gibson standard SG, seasoned SG players will notice the improvement however.
All in all this guitar is definitely a keeper and now my sole SG but one I will be hanging to.

About my Schecter C-1 Silver Mountain in Toxic Venom
I bought this as I was looking for a guitar that I could use for lead and rhythm, that I could get great clean, bluesy and metal tones from but that was also lightweight . At the time I also owned a Jackson Soloist arch top which I was parting with due to the Floyd Rose bridge so this was also in part to fill the gap of that guitar. I had heard really good things about Schecter but never tried one myself. After getting this guitar it definitely won't be my last Schecter!
I had come across this guitar on store websites when browsing for months before I actually bought it, they were using standard stock photos and while it looked interesting it didn't exactly wow me looks wise. Anyway, I saw an advert for one in Japan on eBay with pictures of the actual guitar and that was it, I was sold. I had to buy one. The green really pops, it has a slight sparkle to it that you can only really see in person close up but that adds depth to the green on the finish. Even photo's of these guitar's don't do the finish justice.
It's not just the body finish that looks great, the matching green fretboard inlays and the glow in the dark side dots with black hardware make this really stand out in the crowd. It might be a bit much for some but I love the in your face attitude of this guitar.
But what about the pickups? You get a pair of Schecter USA Sonic Seducer pickups. This was my main concern, they are not aftermarket pickups that I'm familiar with these are stock and from a company that I have never owned a guitar by.....risky. Well I took the risk to tell you, it was absolutely worth it! I have since looked for Schecter pickups to buy to replace some Seymour Duncan pickups I have in another guitar. These are GREAT, GREAT, PICKUPS. Again, and I cannot express this enough, these are great pickups. Great cleans? Got it. Bluesy crunch? Got it. Facemelt metal? Got it. Sustain? Got it. *Enter whatever you want from a pickup followed by a question mark*. Got it.

About my Jackson RRT-3 Rhoads Hardtail Ivory with Black Pin Stripes
This was my first 'V'style guitar that I bought. The reason I bought this guitar isn't really a long story as such but requires a bit of background. Alexi Laiho (lead guitarist and vocalist of Children of Bodom) is one of my favourite guitarists, a massive influence but also a massive inspiration for me picking up my guitar. Before moving to ESP, Alexi played Jackson RR's with pinstripes so this is why this guitar was on my 'want list'. I didn't want one with a Floyd Rose so this was the perfect option for me.
One concern I had when buying a 'V' was how am I going to be able to play it sitting down? Well this did require changing how I hold and where I place the guitar. Before owning this guitar I would always play sitting down with the guitar on my right leg, with other guitars this works fine but not with a 'V'. It is impossible to play comfortably sitting down with this guitar on your right leg. You have to move to a more classical position for playing guitar. Just thinking about it seemed extremely daunting before it arrived but after an hour or so I adjusted to it. I now ALWAYS play in this position sitting down, no matter what guitar I'm playing as I find it far more comfy to play this way and I find neck access is improved.
This guitar is a classic so there isn't much for me to add that hasn't already been said a million times before. I find this guitar the most fun to play out of all the guitars I own, there's just something about it - there's a buzz you get swinging it around with the distortion on max.

My go to pick for writing music, recording and practicing at home. Where they really excel is fast tremolo rhythm sections. I have yet to find a pick that can match the speed or tone I can get from these. I really can't recommend these enough!
These picks are part of my main 3 live rotation picks I use when playing with my cover band Led by Miss Fortune. If you’ve used Jazz III’s before then you know what you’re getting with these just with extra grip! In terms of what the grip is like, the pick itself is very smooth the grip comes from the powdery coating. I like them, the grip is definitely far superior to your standard Jazz III in my opinion. Having said that in terms of grip staying power they are a one session use really if you are a particularly sweaty on stage player such as myself.
I use these picks with my acoustic guitar. The other picks I use are too thick and rigid to get a nice tone on acoustic strings so I always have some of these purely for this use.
I also use these for the 'cleaner' cover songs in my band Led By Miss Fortune where a thinner pick is required. I have attempted to alternate pick chugga chugga Oasis but not happening!
